Are you looking behind?

Vintage Devotional

No matter how much one lives, life still brings new lessons to the very core of our existence.

In living we are only aware of what we see and adamantly refuse to see beyond where we are because we are usually satisfied with what is before us.

In order to gain immediate satisfaction, we begin to compare where we are to where we had once been. Don’t worry, it is a human tendency innate in our nature, even the great apostle Paul struggled with this reality in his life and ministry.

It is only normal that we often forget how much we dreaded and tenaciously resisted those moments when it was once our reality.

How much happier we would have been if we compared the present to future expectations and not to past occurrences.

Remember that the past is past no matter how beautiful, amazing and wonderful it once appeared to be. The Bible says we must forget the past and choose to look at the new things that he is doing in our lives.

Also, the people who looked behind never returned. It is necessary that we look right in front of us and enjoy the brilliance and wonder of today, hoping for the best tomorrow.

Never look behind! Keep going forward!!
