Chained series....Tosin

Tosin loved her chains so much that she held on to it like the chicken held onto their eggs. The first day Tosin left Ibadan was the last day she saw Tamie. Ibadan was the totality of Tosin’s desire. She was the kind of girl that viewed her thoughts as fragments of the environment she lived. So she stayed in Ibadan hoping to remain free, but that was what chained her.

The day she left was the day she died, not a death of death but a death of her past; a past she refused to let go, a past she wrapped around her like gele. Gele is a particular costume worn by women in some parts of Africa, it is placed around the head as an adornment to cause beauty and style. That was exactly how Tosin adorned her pain, she colored her past as the beautiful Oyo skies with abbreviated clouds all around it.

The moment you tried to unchain her of her past, she would rigidly remind you that it was the beginning and the end of her life. The harlot she was is the harlot she would be.

I would tell you about Tosin. Her life. Her history. Her marriage and her end.

To be continued
