Before you get married....

Before you get married, read this....

I’m not married but I understand that marriages would work if two people understand the importance of committing to a value system.

Few days ago I wrote a paper on organizational values and I realized that organizations thrive on values such as integrity, loyalty, and transparency. Without these values organizations would rise to great heights and crumble regardless of whatever service they provide.

Most marriages that work are built on systems such as (loyalty, accountability, and integrity) without the commitment of both parties in fostering these values in their relationship, the marriage would also crumble in time.

Before you get married, understand that Loyalty would keep you grounded in very hard times. It would teach you to hold on to your commitment, it would show you the path of fighting the temptation to look behind and wonder what could have been or what should have been.

Before you get married, understand that compassion would help you stick with your partner when th storms of life emerges. It would show you how Jesus felt when he healed the sick and fed the hungry. It would teach you the strange path of empathy, you would be happy with yourself that you helped your partner through sickness, innate pains and insurmountable obstacles. We do not pray for hard times, but if hard times emerges, compassion would guide you through.

Before you get married, please try as much as possible to understand the importance of faithfulness, patience, and faith. Faithfulness would show You the path Jesus took when he died on the cross. Patience would help your roots to go deeper but you’ll be obstinate, stronger and able to ride storms. Faith would empower you to push through very hard times, you would believe in God.

I’m not your expert relationship coach, but I’ll tell you over and over again that changes would occur in marriage, you would try to stop these changes but you won’t be able to. However, we can temper these changes by our commitment to inculcating these life long values. No one gets it all at once, they all try, we would also try as well, but never stop learning, keep moving on.

Try growing these values one by one: grow patience, grow sincerity, grow compassion and don’t stop....
